Action Henk used to be the toughest and fastest action figure back in the days, unfortunately those times are behind him, and he’s in a bit of a rut these days. It’s time for him to get back in action, and show everyone he’s still the fastest out there. We’re pleased to announce that Action Henk will be hitting Xbox One in March 2016! The game is all about racing through short stages as fast as possible by running, jumping and butt-sliding Henk along tracks made of various toys and obstacles. The game might start off very simple, but there’s... See the rest of the story on Xbox Wire
Spareware is a cooperative top-down shooter set in a future dystopian metropolis of Helsinki. We’ve designed Spareware to be a game for people who just want a fun little shooter to play while hanging out with friends, without compromising the challenging hardcore gameplay elements. Because of the challenge, you may have to start over multiple times, but it won’t get boring thanks to our procedural world generation system with multiple different archetypes of levels. We’ve always liked to play cool top-down shooters together and when we got the Xbox One, we didn’t find enough games from the genre. Then it hit... See the rest of the story on Xbox Wire
Inspired by 1950’s pulp fiction, Fortified is a unique blend of bombastic third person shooting, and uncompromising co-op base defense gameplay. We’ve always wanted to make games that marry intense strategic gameplay with great multiplayer action that requires coordination and teamwork; Fortified is the first step in that direction. The dev team here at Clapfoot has been working hard for the past two years to bring it to life on the Xbox One. One of the biggest challenges we faced while developing Fortified was building a co-op multiplayer game with only seven core team members. How do you properly playtest... I have no idea how we managed to keep it a secret until now, but Bit.Trip Presents… Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien is making its way to PS4 on February 23rd. With The Bit.Trip collection having also just been released, this means that all entries in the Bit.Trip series are finally available on PS4 and PS Vita!
Runner2 is the sequel to 2010’s Bit.Trip Runner. It takes the auto-running, rhythm-platformer gameplay of the first game and introduces it to a surreal, fantastical world. And when I say “surreal,” I really mean it. You can play as a drunk pickle and a guy with a cheeseburger for a head. These are the kinds of things you can get away with in the world of video games.
Those of you who already own Runner2 on PS Vita will be pleased to hear that the PS4 version is going to be cross buy, meaning you get it free of charge. And for those who will be picking it up for the first time, you’ll be able to do so for $9.99.
The good news doesn’t stop there, however, because the...
Friday the 13th will be a very big day for Doom fans — along with all of us at id Software. Today we announced Doom will be available worldwide on May 13th, including our collector’s edition featuring one of my favorite Demons, the Revenant. Which had a few of you asking: why that Demon in particular?
While I love all the iconic hellspawn in our game, the Revenant is one of my favorites because he represents everything that Doom’s about. He’s got tons of personality. He’s fierce and relentless. He’s high-energy. And he’s just fun to look at. I mean, what’s not to love about a screaming, bloody, possessed corpse with two high-powered missile launchers strapped to his shoulders? Like I said: pure Doom.
That’s why the Revenant isn’t just featured on the game box but also comes to life in our collector’s edition as a 12-inch-tall statue made from high-quality PVC. As you can see in the photo, the...
Remember the 8-bit gaming conventions? Stories told in a 5-second intro cutscene, man-sized shurikens, enemies bumping you into bottomless pits, split-second decision making, revenge! …Ninja Senki DX is all about them.
On February 23rd, Ninja Senki DX will be the third Tribute Games release on Playstation Store. However, for me it’s the game that started it all! Five years ago, before founding Tribute Games with colleague and friend Jean-François Major, I released my first indie title: the original freeware version of Ninja Senki.
Making this game for myself, I wanted to create a classic 8-bit platformer focused on precise and rhythmic level design, like the ones I used to play as a kid. In my mind, it laid the foundation of Tribute Games because it crystallized the direction we would take with the company a few months later.
Ninja Senki celebrates its 5th anniversary. For us at...

Two years ago, our team of 21 year olds found a tiny closet of an office and started making Pneuma: Breath of Life, our story-driven first person puzzler that was part of Games with Gold in November. When Pneuma successfully released, we didn’t buy fast cars or houses, instead reinvesting our funds into making two new titles for Xbox One. One of which we’re really excited to be announcing this week! 10 years ago, we were in our bedrooms playing Call of Duty 2, Medal of Honor, and Enemy Territory. Well, now we’re finally announcing Battalion 1944, our homage to... See the rest of the story on Xbox Wire
